Super Size You, Downsize Me

Today I saw the film Super Size Me, which is the acclaimed documentary by and about Morgan Spurlock, his month-long McDonald’s-only diet, and the ill effects he suffered from it. Along with his personal journey, there was a thorough examination of obesity, eating habits, and nutrition in America. It was funny, disgusting, and very thought-provoking, but I had a sense it was preaching to the converted (I have not eaten at a McDonald’s in years), and that the people who really need to see this movie will probably avoid it. It made me feel better about some of the decisions I’ve made in my life lately. But, perversely, when I saw Morgan on screen eating all those juicy Big Macs, I really wanted to eat one too. The Clown knows our deepest, darkest desires, and he gives us what we want until it kills us. Bwah ha ha!

In other news, I just found out that our Reign of Frogs CD, A Case of Mistaken Serenity, is available in its entirety for MP3 download at eMusic, which is an excellent legal music download site for independent artists and labels that I’ve subscribed to for some time. For all I know, it’s been there for awhile and I just never noticed. So, along with iTunes, we’ve got two of the major digital download bases covered. Too bad it doesn’t really do us much good, that I can see…

Latre.
