My bro-in-law Glen has been sitting in on bass a lot lately with the entertaining punk band Wanker. Tonight he’s going to be playing with them at Herman’s Hideaway in a show that is being webcast at RockDenver.com starting at 8pm MST. As usual, he’ll be using my bass guitar (which he sold to me some years ago), so this is a chance to actually see something of mine onstage for once. He assures me the sticker he slapped on it is only temporary. I won’t be there in person, but will be watching the webcast if my on-call duties don’t interfere. Check it out! They have a very energetic stage show and some very… interesting lyrics.

Awesome! I saw the headline of your entry, and I’m all, like, “That’s a Wanker song, what’s Flasshe doing mentioning it?”. And then your entry is about (the recently reunited) Wanker! I’ve seen numerous of their highly entertaining shows back in the day, and still have some vintage cassetes of their work. For anyone who needs a further point of reference, think of The Tubes with Fee Waybill doing his Quay Lewd schtick. You may or may not know that the guitarist for Wanker, Nick Trombetta, used to not only work with Ken, but used to play basketball with Ken, Ray, and Hugh. I know it’s your laundry day, but I’m sorely tempted to go catch the show, and I’ll buy the first one if you want to come with.

I can’t go – I’m On Call this week. I almost always end up getting paged on weeknights these days.
That’s bizarre that Nick knows those guys. I should’ve brought up Wanker sooner. I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned them to the gang. I caught them a couple of months ago at Herman’s and it was fun.
