And The Joke’s On You

I just found out via Pitchfork that a folk-rock group I’ve never head of called Espers is covering my favorite Blue Öyster Cult song, Flaming Telepaths, on its new EP The Weed Tree, due out 10/18. How cool is that? I know, I’m probably the only one here who cares. I don’t believe any performer has ever covered the song before, at least not on record, and a folksy version could be very interesting.
It’s strange the things that make us happy.

Did you know that there’s a band called “Wooden Wand and the Vanishing Voice” who have an album called “Buck Dharma?” It’s on Rue 5 Christine, which tends to release interesting recordings that I wish I liked better than I did, and you can find it at eM. I haven’t done a trial download yet, but intend to.

Hmmm… the “Buck Dharma” album has a lot of looooonng songs on it, which is a red flag for me. I’ll sample the tunes though. Thanks for the heads-up.
