Never Too Old

This one’s for my friend Hugh. Last night I watched my Criterion DVD of Akira Kurosawa’s Stray Dog, a very influential Japanese crime/suspense movie from 1949. Good flick. The first of its kind, according to the documentary on the disc. The documentary interviews (in recent times) some of the cast and crew, including the movie’s art director Yoshirô Muraki:
Check it out – dude’s wearing a Guns N’ Roses t-shirt! He’s like 80 years old. No way would even my 76-year old father be anywhere near that cool.
The big problem, of course, is that this guy doesn’t really have a lot of time to wait for Chinese Democracy. So get crackin’, Axl Rose! Don’t want to disappoint your oldest fan…
Latre.

Hey, Tommy always make a good replacement. I think he’s already played – who knows if he’s still in the band or if there even is a band. I”m betting the album never comes out. Not that I really care.
