You’ve Got The Power, We’ve Got The Key

As I’ve mentioned before, I love tales of iPod shuffle play synchronicity. And I love it when it happens to me. This morning, when my iHome alarm clock went off, I had the iPod in shuffle play as usual and knew from when I set it up the night before what the first song was going to be. It was a short one (Hard To Ignore from The Features), so I stayed in bed and listened to it. Then the next song came on and it was Blue Öyster Cult’s Let Go (from The Revolution By Night). Then when that was over, the next song was another BÖC song: Blue Öyster Cult from Imaginos. I think other Cult fans can see where I’m going with this. Now it’s not too unusual that two songs from the same group and different albums would appear after one another in shuffle play on my iPod, especially two BÖC songs. It happens a lot. Even though there are almost 8000 songs on the iPod, I do have every BÖC album on there, which means there a ton of BÖC songs on the iPod. But what is unusual is that those two songs are the only ones in the entire large Cult canon that are self-referential; they are the only two that mention “BÖC” or “Blue Öyster Cult”. How odd is that?
Okay, I’m easily amazed. Buck Dharma is obviously sending me a message…
Latre.

Wait a sec — are you telling me that you set your alarm clock on SATURDAYS? Weird.

Well, with the iHome, it makes it fun to wake up to an “alarm”. And hey, there was a lot I wanted to get done today, so I didn’t want to oversleep.

I especially like it when a Game Theory song is followed by a Loud Family song. Those Apple programmers are pretty hip.
Seriously, isn’t there a switch in ITunes that allows you to specify whether you like to hear multiple songs by the same artist? Yeah, it’s called “Smart Shuffle” (Edit>Preferences>Playback).
On a related subject: How do ya like the switch on your IHome for Daylight Savings? Why doesn’t every digital clock have the same thing?

The DST switch on the iHome is cool. What’s weird is that one of my atomic clocks has a DST switch and one just changes to DST and back automatically. I don’t understand why the one needs the switch. My atomic watches also change automatically without a switch.
Maybe the switch is in case you’re in an area that doesn’t observe it?

It is actually a federal crime to set an alarm for Saturday morning. Well, at least it will be when I’m “elected” Supreme High Chancelor!
