Nature Is Weird

So I fired up my grill for the first time this year, with the intention of burning a Memorial Day Steak for myself. Once the fire got going, I noticed an unusual looking blob stuck to the inside of the grill lid. It looked like a bunch of shiny nails that someone had embedded into the grill. Shortly, a single wasp emerged from the blob and flew away. And boy was he pissed! But now he is dead. I closed the lid and swatted him as he hovered next to the grill and tried to get back inside the now-hellish environment. Then I scrapped the nest off the lid and proceeded to char my cow flesh. Man wins out over nature yet again! That steak sure tasted good.
Latre.

Last summer I cleared out hundreds of wasps from my shed. This year, I have two wasps starting back up in the same location. They are very persistent. I don’t know if these are some that missed the chemical warfare attack and hid out somewhere that I didn’t notice, or if they are offspring of the bunch I wiped out. If so, where did they go for the winter? Weird.
