Sawing Zs Through Da Vinci

So Dark The Theater Of Man. I wish I could make a definitive statement about whether or not The Da Vinci Code was a good movie, but I kept nodding off during it. I don’t think that’s a reflection on the movie, because something tells me I would’ve slept through any movie today, even one with a lot more action. I don’t know if it’s because I haven’t been sleeping well at night lately (due to the mental stress of the family situation) or because of the allergy pills I took or low blood sugar (it had been awhile since I ate) or what, but I had a really hard time paying attention to what was going on there on the screen. And since I’m one of only three people in the country who has never read the book, that meant I was kinda lost. It did seem to me like Tom Hanks was sorta sleepwalking through the movie, but maybe I was imposing my own mental state onto his. From what I could see, he didn’t have much of a character to work with. And I just didn’t understand the point of all the puzzles. Seems like there’s easier ways of getting instructions across than writing anagrams in invisible ink on priceless works of art. Or whatever. So anyway, maybe I’ll read the book someday and it will all become clear.
The other thing I did today was a drive up Lookout Mountain to snap some closeup pictures of the antenna towers (see previous entry), among other things. Hopefully I’ll get those posted soon. I dunno, there was something strangely soothing about driving along a winding, slow mountain road on a Sunday afternoon. Took my mind off other things for a little while.
Latre.
