We interrupt this list of summer entertainment distractions to reveal an epiphany I had today. I know I’m opening myself up to ridicule on this one, not to mention cries of “too much information”, but what the hey. I’m amazed that at 45 years old, I’m still learning things. So, what did I learn today? First, go read this entry from The Dilbert Blog.

I quote:

As a practical matter, I think most guys do the “pull down” move as opposed to snaking it through the flap hole. But in any event, the flap hole is there if you need it, perhaps more for tradition than anything else.

Before today, I was completely ignorant of the “pull down” move. I blame my father (and the fact that I didn’t have any brothers) for this lack of important male education. I always use the flap hole – that’s what it’s there for! It never even occurred to me there was any other way. (Also, I’ve never worn boxers… which I assume don’t have the flap hole?) So today I tried the “pull down” method for the first time – and dang if that wasn’t easier! Thank you, Scott Adams. You are now my surrogate father. Or older brother.

In a way, that last paragraph sums up my life pretty well.

The other thing I learned today is that “Chicks dig metaphors” (according to Sparks, at least). My life is like a journey.

Latre.

Boxers have the flap hole and you use it.

You NEVER use the flap hole on briefs. Your whatzit must be mangled after years and years of snaking it through that little flap-maze.

I am brotherless and trust me when I say my father and I never broached the subject of underwear, let alone proper urinating technique.

I find it easier to just pull up the bottom of my trousers a few inches.

Rog, dear, you shoulda written “my life is a journey”. “My life is like a journey” is a simile. Chicks don’t dig similes so much.

you shoulda written “my life is a journey”. “My life is like a journey” is a simile.

I was wondering how long it would take someone to point that out. It’s good to have librarians among us.

BTW, I’ve noticed that with this new method, you have to be really careful with the elastic band or you could end up slapping something that shouldn’t be slapped.
