Not Touching That One

Not much energy for music reviews or whatever at the moment. So again, courtesy of the Random Word Generator

Your Random Word Is: Thrust

Each of the three Space shuttle main engines can produce a thrust of 1.8 MN (Meganewtons), and each of its two Solid Rocket Boosters 14.7 MN, together 34.8 MN. Compare with the mass at lift-off of 2,040,000 kg, hence a weight of 20 MN.

Don’t say I never learned ya nothin’.

Oh, I do remember something I wanted to talk about. They’re remodeling my local Safeway (this is the same one with weird Safeway Bagger Guy, whom I have seen since this incident but have managed to avoid). I don’t like change. I don’t like not being able to find my usual groceries. Since they are remodeling, they’re constantly moving stuff around. The grocery list in my PDA is sorted by the aisle number for each item, and that’s useless now. I can’t even put in new aisle numbers, since I’m sure the items are not yet at their new permanent locations. Supposedly they’re not going to be done till late May or early June, and I don’t know if I’ll be able to deal with the stress until then. It took me a lot longer than usual to do my shopping this morning.

“Shopper having nervous breakdown on aisle 9. Or is that aisle 7 now?”

It’s like being thrust into a whole new world of chaos.

Latre.

I wouldn’t, but as it so happens I already knew the shuttle’s SRB thrust specs – didn’t every kid growing up in the 80s watch the news coverage? But I’ll admit, this is the first blog post I’ve ever read that used Newtons where appropriate, instead of kilograms (or – *gag* – pounds…)

Now, what was I gonna say – oh yeah, how about a blog post on how you’ve become so used to your own daily routine that you’ve resorted to picking topics with dice in order to fulfill an arbitrary posting goal? I’d read that one!

Or you could just post about dice.
