Every Day Is The Way

I go running pretty much every weekday morning. Unless there’s inclement weather, or I have to be at work early, or I’m injured or sick, or I’m too tired, or I stayed up too late the night before, or I have some other reason for staying in bed, or I just don’t feel like it. I will also try to run on weekend mornings if I don’t get up too late and it’s not too hot. I’ve noticed that there seems to be a lot more joggers (and walkers and dog walkers) out at 6am on Monday and Wednesday mornings than on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. What’s up with that? It think it signifies a severe lack of dedication on the part of my fellow early morning exercisers. C’mon people, get it together! Get into a more frequent routine!
So what is it about Mondays and Wednesdays? On those days, it’s so crowded on the sidewalks that it’s like running an obstacle course. But the other days… nothing. I get the whole “field” to myself. Oh, the loneliness.
Latre.

It’s possible that the Mon/Wed people are alternating days of running with days of strength training, which is what I’m currently doing. They’re probably just slacking on Friday.

Do you care to clarify what “severe lack of dedication” implies when spoken by one who, by his own admission, doesn’t run if he “just [doesn't] feel like it”?
(Full disclosure: question posed by someone who does not run at all)

Okay, Ben, am I going to have explain the concept of “irony” to you? Or maybe you should just go listen to some Alanis Morissette…
