Ticking Clock

Posted on | March 12, 2008 at 9:58 pm | 6 Comments

I’d do a real blog entry today, but I’ve been busy watching a DVD tonight (Superbad) and I’ve been ordered to get to bed by 10pm because I’ve been really, really tired lately from going to bed too late and getting up too early. So, this is all you get:

Jogged Today: Yes (@ 45°F and very windy)
Songs That Came Up On The iPod While Jogging:

  • “My Favorite Dress” (Wedding Present)
  • “Cheating On You” (Franz Ferdinand)
  • “Glad ‘N’ Greasy” (Beat Farmers)
  • “The Collector” (Nine Inch Nails)
  • “Watch Me Now, I’m Calling” (Blake Babies)
  • “Break” (The Cinematics)
  • “Easy Target” (Blink 182)
  • “I Looked At The Sea” (Bill Nelson)

Pet Peeve of the Day: Getting put on infinite hold by a customer service representative. Hey look, if you have to go to the bathroom or answer a personal call, just say so.

Latre.

“Go to the bathroom or answer a personal call”? Hell, either would take a shortish period of time. I suspect they’re, like, learning to play the banjo.

What did you think of Superbad? I thought it was the most overrated film of last year but then again, I’m a chick; I think it’s a dude thing.

I enjoyed Superbad, though I thought the constant focus on the raunchy talk was a bit much – guess I’m getting too old. I laughed though, and I didn’t doze off. I could tell it was the kind of flick Nancy wouldn’t have enjoyed much, so it was a good thing she didn’t watch it with me. Maybe it is a dude thing.

btw re: your pet peeve of the day: I just tried returning a call to one of my clients. She picked up after about 4 rings, then answered and immediately said, “One moment please.” I heard her talking to someone in the room for about 60 seconds; then she came back on the line and said “One moment please” again. At that point I was so ticked off I hung up. &$%#, that’s what voice mail is for! My pet peeve is clients who insist on calling me rather than emailing, and especially ones who practice poor phone etiquette if they do insist on talking on the phone. Grr.

Not a dude thing, unless I am actually a dude.
